The Victoria memorial hall is dedicated in loving memory of Queen Victoria and now it’s a museum having British raj , paintings, monuments, statues, weapons, maps, coins, stamps, and some other great stuffs which let us know about history behind the Victoria memorial and people who belong to it.

Their are also many paintings about the Queen Victoria’s life.Victoria memorial museum including its beautiful gardens is spread over 64 acres long.It is the beautiful architectural work with blends of British and Mughal era of architecture. It is made of white Makrana Marbles.

The foundation stone of Victoria memorial was laid down by prince of wales in the year 1906 and it was inaugurated in the year 1921 in loving memory of Queen Victoria. It is situated on the grounds by the bank of Hoogly river near Jawaharlal Nehru road.

When we visited Kolkata it was our first priority to watch Victoria memorial.one can get the idea of how beautiful it is even from the outside of the entry gate,my first reaction was ohh, it looks like Tajmahal ..!! isn’t it? As soon as you enter in to the gate you will see beautiful garden, feel the fresh breeze, neat and clean lanes for walks. We reached quiet early in the morning and we noticed many people were came here for a morning walk.

After clicking many photos of such a beautiful architectural wok which takes us to the old era of British empire,we decided to enter in to the museum .Inside photography is not allowed ,for us it was quiet disappointing but then also we enjoyed each and every thing in the museum.we got to see many things related to museum and queen Victoria.Museum is well spread in ground and first floor, from here you can enjoy the backside of the museum. We just can’t get enough of looking the museum, We wish to visit this place again and again..!!
